Category information

  • Individual Time Trial counts for the Tour de Bintan General Classification
  • Cyclists start in 30-seconds intervals. 2017 ITT start list for your reference.
  • Individual Time Trial equipment rules are the same as for the Gran Fondo Classic i.e. time trial bikes, aero helmets, disc wheels and aero-bars are not allowed.

Qualifier for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championship – Road Race.

Category information

  • Cyclists start in multiple wave starts based on their age category.
  • Time interval between wave starts is 5-10 minutes.
  • Age categories may be combined in one wave start.
  • The women’s age categories start ahead of the men’s age categories.
  • If the women’s or men’s age categories are split up, the younger age categories will start ahead of the older age categories.
  • Cyclists’ results and start times are based on the gun time of their wave start.
  • The Gran Fondo Classic counts for the Tour de Bintan General Classifiation.

Category information

  • Cyclists will have to complete the ride on 20km/hr average to make the intermediate cut-off points
  • Cyclists who have not passed the cut-off points at prescribed times must abandon the race:
    • Intermediate cut-off points and times will be announced closer to date
  • Cyclists who finish later than 15:27 will not be ranked in the results.

The Gran Fondo Century is part of the Tour de Bintan Package and Gran Fondo Double Package. Cyclists must sign up for the packages to take part.

Category information

  • Cyclists start in multiple waves based on their age category.
  • Time interval between wave starts is 5-10 minutes.
  • Age categories may be combined in one wave start, as long as the total number of cyclists does not exceed 200.
  • The women’s age categories start ahead of the men’s age categories.
  • If the women’s or men’s age categories are split up, the younger age categories will start ahead of the older age categories.
  • Results and start times are based on the gun time of their wave start.

The Gran Fondo Century counts for the Tour de Bintan General Classification.

  • Cyclists will have to complete the ride on 20km/hr average to make the intermediate cut-off points
  • Cyclists who have not passed the cut-off points at prescribed times (based on last wave start at 7:30) must abandon the race:
    • 59km cut-off: 10:30
    • 94km cut-off: 12:15*
    • 111km finish line cut-off: 13:15
  • Cyclists who finish later than 13:15 will not be ranked in the results.

The Gran Fondo Challenge, although timed, is non-competitive. All finishers receive a medal, but no trophies and prizes are awarded to winners.

  • Cyclists will have to complete the ride on 14km/hr average to make the intermediate cut-off points
  • Cyclists who have not passed the cut-off points at prescribed times (based on last wave start at 9:15) must abandon the race:
    • 19km cut-off: 10:35
    • 62km cut-off: 14:20*
    • 82km finish line cut-off: 15:15
  • Cyclists who finish later than 15:15 will not be ranked in the results.

  • Cyclists who finish later than 13:15 will not be ranked in the results.
